Lye Calc privacy policy
Effective date: 28 October 2026
Summary
Lye Calc: Soap Recipes is published by Dre Dev ("we"). It calculates lye, water and fragrance for soap recipes, keeps your recipes and works out batch costs. Everything you enter stays on your device. We don't run accounts, ads or analytics, and we don't sell or share your data.
Data stored on your device
The app saves the following only in the app's storage on your phone:
- recipes: names, oils and amounts, lye, superfat, water and fragrance settings, notes;
- the recipe you are working on (saved as you type, so nothing is lost when you switch apps);
- batches you log: recipe name, the date you made it, the cure time and whether a reminder is on;
- oils you add yourself: the name, SAP value and any iodine, INS or fatty acid values you enter;
- prices you enter for ingredients, packaging and labor, and the marketplace fees you set;
- app settings: weight unit and whether you have read the lye safety note.
This data is not sent to us or to anyone else. It is deleted when you delete a recipe, clear the app's data or uninstall the app. It may be included in your device backup (iCloud or Google), which is covered by Apple's and Google's policies.
Backup files and PDF recipe sheets
When you tap "Export backup", the app makes one file with your saved recipes and prices and hands it to the place you choose in the system share menu (for example Files, iCloud Drive, Google Drive or e-mail). When you share a PDF recipe sheet, the same happens with that PDF. That service's own privacy policy applies to the copy you send or store there. When you tap "Import backup", the app reads only the file you pick.
Purchases
Payments are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play; we never see your payment details. To check whether you have Lye Calc Pro, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous app user ID, your purchase and subscription status, and basic device information such as OS version and IP address. See the RevenueCat privacy policy, the Apple privacy policy and the Google privacy policy.
Permissions
- Internet: only to verify purchases.
- Files: only the backup file you pick in the system file picker is read.
- Notifications: only if you turn on "Remind me when it is ready" for a batch. The reminder is scheduled on your device and nothing is sent to us; you can turn notifications off in your phone's settings at any time.
The app does not use the camera, photos, location or contacts.
Links, ratings and support
Links to the data sources open in your browser. If the app asks for a rating, the dialog is shown by Apple or Google. If you e-mail us, we receive your e-mail address and message and use them only to answer you.
Children
Lye Calc is a tool for adults working with caustic chemicals. It is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.
Your rights
Because your data stays on your device, you can view, change, export or delete it in the app or by uninstalling the app. For questions about purchase data held by RevenueCat, contact us and we will help.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above.

- рецепти: назви, олії та їхню кількість, луг, пережир, налаштування води й аромату, нотатки;
- рецепт, над яким ви працюєте (зберігається під час введення, тож нічого не губиться, коли ви перемикаєте застосунки);
- партії, які ви записуєте: назву рецепта, дату варіння, час дозрівання й чи ввімкнено нагадування;
- олії, які ви додаєте самі: назву, SAP-значення та йодне число, INS чи жирні кислоти, якщо ви їх вводите;
- ціни, які ви вводите для інгредієнтів, пакування й роботи, та комісії майданчика;
Lye Calc —
